At Newbury Soup Kitchen, we offer much more than just soup. All our outreach services are free of charge, ensuring support for those who need it most.
Keeping Our Community Safe
Many of our clients have underlying health conditions and are unvaccinated, so we take every precaution to ensure their safety. Our outreach services also include when necessary. Every Thursday evening, we provide vital services to support those facing challenges. Our team and partners offer:
- Seasonal Vaccinations: Influenza vaccines are available as part of our outreach program when available through Public Health.
- Hepatitis C Testing: Free Hep C tests are provided during our Thursday sessions quarterly at the Salvation Army Hall 6-7pm through The Hepatitis Trust www.hepctrust.org.uk
- Specialist Support:

- Drug and alcohol outreach

- Haircuts 6-6.30pm Every Thursday evening, Kate, a professional hairdresser, retired paramedic, and one of our first-aiders provides free haircuts to those in need. She also serves as one of our outreach workers.
- Dental referrals (by the community nurse)
- Practical Help: Shower and laundry tokens, toiletries, emergency food packs, kettle packs, tents, sleeping bags, and warm clothing (for rough sleepers and people in emergency accommodation).
- Foodbank referrals
- Fuel Voucher support when funding is available*
If someone comes with an issue we cannot resolve directly, we connect them with the right service to ensure they get the support they need.
