Sue, our wonderful and supportive PCSO was on duty this evening, she volunteers every week whether she is on duty or not. This week Sergeant Simon White also came in to see us and stayed for most of the session which was brilliant. The police support us and are very keen to build relationships with our clients too.

Fractured relationships caused more anxiety and stress deepening the emotional strain and depression that they feel.
Some sessions are just filled with incidents that require all volunteers to be vigilant, have lots of diplomacy, patience and prepared to use all the skills that we have to ensure everyone is safe and remain safe. This week definitely kept us on our toes.
A client came in this week, who we have seen transform from high level drug usage to being clean from drugs now for quite a few months. Taking drugs and being dependant on alcohol is usually used as a crutch to bury other issues that are deep-rooted and too painful to address.
A client collapsed with chest pains this evening, outside of the hall. He was in huge distress and he was struggling to cope with the pain he was in.
We are delighted to have been chosen by The Hare & Hounds at Speen as their chosen charity for their Comedy Night, raising much needed funding for a Defibrillator. A huge thanks go to the entire team at the Hare & Hounds.....

We had 37 people in this evening. We provided meat based and vegetarian soup, Amatriciana (bacon and tomato pasta) and pineapple upside down cake with custard. Jan did a potato salad, which always goes down well.
This week was again quieter than it has been for a while with only 35. Having less people in allows the volunteers more time to sit, chat and support as needed. The atmosphere was jovial, however lively at times, which had to be controlled.
