This week was our Christmas party. The organisation that goes on behind the scenes is huge but the end result was wonderful.We fed 58 people throughout the night. Henry & Joe's is a wholly independent restaurant in the heart of Newbury enjoying some rave reviews. Chef Henry kindly supports us by helping produce the food for our Thursday Night service provision.
We had 44 clients in tonight and it was a good session. We were low on volunteers as a few volunteers were unable to come last minute due to work commitments. It did leave us short but luckily nothing happened that we couldn't manage.This was all exacerbated by terrible problems with the Paddington train line[...]

Much busier than last week, 43 hungry people through the door and 24 in the first 4 minutes. The kitchen volunteers were rushed off their feet tonight. The main meal went, every last scrap. Jan had made a Bolognese sauce with 5KG of mince that had been donated by West Berkshire Brewery this was served on top of Jacket Potatoes.[...]
